About me
As Co-Director of CTUL since 2007, Merle coordinates the corporate campaigns that build power for worker voice, as well as overseeing the infrastructure of the organization. Merle has worked as an organizer since 2000, when he co-founded the Student Farmworker Alliance in Immokalee, Florida. He holds an MA in Latin American Studies from The University of Florida and a BA in Spanish and Humanities from Stetson University. He serves on the Board of Directors of Tending the Soil and Building Dignity and Respect Standard Council, and the Coordinating Committee of the Worker-Driven Responsibility Network.
